How might I begin to catch a whisper
in a quiet place? The ravens conspire
near the trunk of a White Ash. Sisters pray
beside the ivy-covered mausoleum,
blue eyes pierce covens of webs
brooding in the corners & thunder
a summer roar so deafening that only
those who understand the value of a dollar
will be able to bear the spirits wailing,
